An officer's sabre, for a War Volunteer from the City of Frankfurt am Main, circa 1815 A curved single-edged blade with fullers on both sides and a double-edged pandour point. The upper half bears finely etched vine and trophy decoration with eagles among them with an "F" inscribed on their breasts. Brass knucklebow hilt with ridged languets. Leather grip cover wound with brass wire. Brass scabbard with an iron chape and two suspension rings. Traces of dents in the middle, some split. Length cm.
