Putnam planer, a 42-in. wheelborer and a turret lathe. Three motors, one y\ hp andtwo 5 hp, are required in the machine department. Thereare also a small planer and a straightening machine. The lamps are used, the latter, with the exception of the washroom, being arranged in five-light clusters. No wires arevisible, all being enclosed in steel tubing, which greatlyreduces the fire risk. The blast at the forges and the smoke draft are operated.
