Horse grazes in front of Courthouse and Jail Rocks in Nebraska , the first monumental bluffs pioneers found on Oregon Trail

The Courthouse and Jail Rocks were the first monumental bluffs that pioneers encountered heading west on Oregon and Mormon Trails. The rocks also served as an important crossroads, where two major trunks of the Oregon and California Overland trails merged. In this image, a horse grazes in front of the stone formations.
