Felled giant Sequoia Redwood tree (Sequoiadendron giganteum), Westonbirt Arboretum, Gloucestershire, England, UK. This tree was felled in early 2015 for safety reasons. Surveys revealed that the central column was showing rot/decay. Experience indicated that this decay would also affect the the root plate which raised concerns over the stability of the tree.
