S. arriving in New York the com-pany, consisting of 397 Latter-daySaints, continued the journey by railand arrived in Utah in July, 1871. Shelocated first in Bear River City andthen went to Logan, where she spentthe first winter. From 1876 to 1879 132 LATTER-DAY SAINT she taught the summer school in BearRiver City. She was married to KnudH. Fridal, Nov. 15, 1878, in the En-dowment House in Salt Lake City byDaniel H. Wells. She was called toact as secretary of the Bear RiverCity Relief Society, Aug. 5, 1875,which position she held for over 25years, or until May 12, 1901, when shewas set apart as president of the. Elwood Relief Society. This office sheheld with fidelity until Aug. 31, 1913,when she was set apart as second coun-selor in the Bear River Stake ReliefSociety. On June 4, 1916, she was sus-tained as first counselor in that organ-ization which position she held withhonor until the time of her death,which occurred Oct. 30, 1925, thusbeing over fifty years continuously anofficer in the Relief Society. She wassecond counselor in the Bear RiverCity Retrenchment Society (now M. L A.) from Jan. 3, 1876, toNov. 21, 1881, and first counselor inthe same organization from 1881 to1890. Sister Fridal was the motherof eight children, namely, Knud , jun., Walter E., John Henry,Verne A., Ira O., Lucy (Mrs. Bow-cutt), Hazel (Mrs. Wright), and Fridal was a devoted wife, mother and friend.
