This illustration of a siege of a fortress shows an attack upon an Egyptian fortress by troops carrying various arms. It was drawn by Faucher-Gudin, after Champollion's drawing, from a scene in the tomb of Amoni-Amenemhait at Beni Hasan, an ancient Egyptian burial site in what is known as Middle Egypt. It appeared in Gaston Maspero's Art of Egypt, published in 1921.
