JOHN McCLELLAN. John McClellan, who died December 12, 1906,in Plainfield township, was born at Colerain,Franklin county, Massachusetts, November 16,1826, a son of Michael and Jane (Patterson) Mc-Clellan, both of whom were natives of the old Baystate, and there lived and died. Mr. McClellan was the last surviving memberof a family of eight children, and was the onlyone of the family who ever came to Illinois. Hewas reared and educated in his native state andthere engaged in farming to the age of twenty-nine years, when he located in Will county, ar-riving there in February, 1856.
