Shankaranarayana, a form of both Shiva and Vishnu, stands in samabhanga on a low pedestal. Narayana (a form of Vishnu) is shown as blue-complexioned, carrying the chakra (discus) and his lower hand in abhaya mudra. A crown adorns his head. On his left is white-complexioned Shankara (a form of Shiva) whose hair is gathered in a jata makuta from which three dreadlocks fly loose. In his upper hand he carries the mriga (gazelle) and his lower hand is in varada mudra. On either side stands the appropriate consort goddess, carrying a lotus in one hand.
