The enthusiasm with which pupils and parents entered into ourpupil savings plan exceeded our expectations. The appeal of theschool for habits of thrift and against the expenditure of money fortrifles has been most salutary. During this one year 1,800 of our2,700 pupils have become regular despositors, having on interest aboutseven thousand dollars. A movement for recess playgrounds in connection with every schoolbuilding was begun. A system of drawing and construction workcombined was established in the lower grades which will gradually beextended to higher grades. All school property, interior and exterior,was much improved and beautified. Drinking cups were abolishedand fouptaips Si No. 6. UNIONTOWN. 26» The large increase in enrollment in gi-animar school and llighSchool was very gratifying. One hundred thirty five eighlh gradepupils were promoted into lligh Hchool. Next years eighth gradeclass will number two hundred. The High School enrollment willbe increased by one hundred pupils. Among several things of in-terest in our High School, the special course plan, whereby a pupilmay take a one or two or three or four years course according to thetime he is able to spend and the mental ability with which he is en-dowed, is most worthy of mention. One of the special movementsundertaken in the High School has been to increase and direct thesocial activities of the students. One of tlie most pleasing events of the year was the observance ofthe birthday of Miss Ella Peach, Assistant Superintendent of Schools,who has completed forty-one years o
