Harrison Stiles, gardener for Frank F. Frazier, had the best fifteen varieties of hardy perennials, capturing a cup. Mrs. A. T. Croll had the finest collection of dahlias. For collection ot gladioli, Eric Wetterlow, gardener for Mrs. Lester Leland, led, followed by Frank P. Frazier. William Swan took the Connolly special for the finest col- lection of fruit. He had superb melons in eight varieties, grapes, peaches, nec- tarines, etc., all of highest quality, also awarded a cultural certificate. The silver cup for twenty varieties of vegetables was won by Eric Wetter- low, with a splendid collection. He also won in the onion class, with im- mense Ailsa Craig. The Stumpp & Walter silver cup for vegetables was secured by Mrs. Geo. Wigglesworth. For collection of annuals Mrs. Geo. Von L. Meyer and F. P. Frazier won the Fottler-Fiske-Bawson specials. Alfred E. Parsons, gardener to H. S. Grew, showed a grand group of flowering and foliage plants. Eric Wetterlow also showed a splendid lot, which won many prizes. Other prize winners included Mrs. E. D. Evans, F. Chapman, gardener for Mrs. E. C. Swift; Mrs. S. P. Bremer, Mrs. M. G. Horton, James Salter, gar- dener for Mrs. Philip Dexter; Mrs. Wm. Hooper, T. Jefferson Coolidge, Mrs. W. B. Walker and Mrs. Boylston Beal. R. & J. Farquhar & Co. received a certifi- cate of merit for a table of Lilium Henryi, and the Mount Desert Nur- series, Bar Harbor, Me., a similar award for a splendid collection of hardy peren- nials. W.
