The Chapel of St. Triphone which houses the charnel house for The Monastery of St. Catherine, Sinai.

With in the walls of the Monastery of St Catherine is the chapel of St Triphone, inside the chapel is the charnel house for the monastery, which houses hundreds and thousands of skulls and bones of the Monks who have lived, prayed and died there. One skeleton is completely clothed, with a purple skull cap. It is St Stephanos, (pictured), who died there in 580. St. Triphone was torured and beheaded for being a Christian, he was martyred between the 5th and 6th centuries.
