The season has been such a forcing one that some exhibits usually seen here of grand quality are missing or scarce. These include cinera- rias, schizanthus, cyclamens and bulb- ous material. On the other hand, roses are numerous and good; so are orchids and azaleas, while acacias arc scarce. The rose garden of Thomas Roland, with its grass and gravel walks, beds of beautifully flowered bush roses and fences covered with climbers, is ex- tremely attractive. Another rose gar- den, not in competition, from the Breck-Robinson Nursery Co., ia also well done. The splendid orchid collec- tions of Albert C. Burrage, Beverly Farms; A. N. Cooley, Pittsfield; Julius Roehrs Co., Rutherford, N. J.; E. B. Dane, of Brookline, and others, contain a wealth of rare and choice material. The rose groups of the W. W. Edgar Co., F. E.
