1905 -A photograph of British unemployed workmen sent for agricultutal training under the failed 'threeacres & a cow' scheme. The slogan has been used by British speaking politicians and land reformers since the 1880s. It refers to the ideal land holding considered to allow every citizen to provide for his or her own needs. It was re-introduced during trhe 1920's
