The Plane Tree of Hippocrates near the Gazzi Hassan mosque
The Plane Tree of Hippocratesnext to Castle of Neratzia and the Gazzi Hassan mosque. Legend is that Hippocrates taught under the shade of the tree. The current tree is 500 years old, but may be a descendant of the original which may have stood there 2400 years ago. Many international medical schools have trees seeded from it.
