Plant Bulbs a Little More Deeply in Lisht Soil Than in Heavy Soil FERRY-MORSE SEED LATE FLOWERING TULIPS The Cottage or May Flowering;, the Darwin, the Breeder, the Rembrandt, the Lily Flowering, and the Parrot are some of the most important of the Late Flowering Tulips. For formal or informal use in the garden and for cut flowers they are all very desirable. The letters D, E, F, G, etc., following the name of a variety refer to time of blooming when planted out- doors; they follow in close succession the latest of the early flowering sorts. The height is given in inches. COTTAGE AND HYBRID TULIPS Bloom in Late Spring The origin of Cottage Tulips has been lost—they are so old. But they have come to us chiefly from the humble cottage gardens of the British Isles. They are usually recognized by their long and narrow petals and their slender but strong stems. In shape of bloom they vary. Some are egg-shaped, some vase-shaped, some lily-flowered. They have a wide range of colors, but in the orange-scarlets and the yellows they are especially outstanding. Some of the Cottage Tuhps are fragrant. The Hybrid Tuhps are crosses between the Cottage, Breeder, and Darwin Tulips. ARGO F 23 in. Deep soft yellow, as though the petals were covered with a bloom.
