A shepherd in the village of Lyaily near Beshkent, Kyrgyzstan with some of his goats. Access to fresh water comes from a nearby river, but water delivery systems are lacking. Locals are hoping and planning for infrastructure project to bring clean water to their homes. In villages across Kyrgyzstan (Central Asia) antiquated water delivery systems and infrastructure is the cause of health issues such as outbreaks of hepatitis and gastrointestinal disease, especially among children.
