False-colour angiogram of a person with an enlarged heart due to high blood pressure (hypertension). An angiogram is an X-ray image of arteries that have been outlined by prior injection of a radio-opaque contrast medium. The catheter tube used to introduce the contrast medium appears as a fine curved line looping down to the heart. Large arteries, such as the pulmonary artery and the aorta, appear as pale white tubes at the top of the heart.
