Jacqui Hall (Wimborne) competes in the Dorset Town Crier competition 2010. Contestants compete for the Stanley Mansbridge trophy


Town Criers taking part in the 2010 Dorset Town Crier’s Competition, held under the rules of the The Ancient & Honourable Guild of Town Criers. Criers from across the county of Dorset compete for the Stanley Mansbridge Perpetual Trophy. The competition was held on Sunday 24th October, during the Wimborne Food Festival. The competition was held in Wimborne Minster, was hosted by Chris Brown, the previous year's winner. The contestants were judged on diction, inflection, volume and clarity. The winning crier was Alistair Chisholm (Dorchester). David Craner (Beaminster) was second and Iain Mitchell (West Moors) third. There was also a competition for the best dressed crier, won by David Craner
