RNLI Lifeguards on St Ouen's beach Jersey Mitsubishi L200 RNLI Lifeguards 4x4 Channel Islands


2013 A Jersey lifeguard service run by the RNLI mostly staffed by locals . Jersey lifesavers make up more than 70% of the 19-strong team patrolling the island's beaches during the summer. During 2012 the lifeguards dealt with 197 incidents, helped 260 people and saved two lives. RNLI lifeguards patrol St Ouen's, St Brelades Bay and Plemont beaches & Greve de Lecq Red and yellow flags These flags mark areas that are patrolled by lifeguards. These are the safest places to swim or use a bodyboard Red flags A red flag indicates danger. Never enter the water when the red flag is flying. Black and white chequered flags If you see a black and white chequered flag, it means the area is safe for watercraft, like surfboards and kayaks. It's not safe to swim or use a bodyboard in these areas.
