At approximately 0900 on 1st January 2016, 771 Squadron from Royal Naval Air Station Culdrose handed over Search and Rescue responsibilities for their area to Bristow Helicopters based in Newquay with state-of-the-art Sikorsky S-92 search and rescue helicopters. The handover took place at RNAS Culdrose in Helston, Cornwall.
