BEIJING CHINA MAY 2006 An article in a Chinese newspaper showing damage to women's bodies from the use of Ao Mei Ding in plastic surgery. Ao Mei Ding means "man-made fat". This colloid was popular with back-street plastic surgery clinics for breast enhancement because it was very cheap but in May 2006 it was banned by China's State Food and Drug Administration after numerous cases of alarming side effects emerged. A class action is now being brought by Beijing lawyers on behalf of 100 Ao Mei Ding victims including women whose breasts had to be removed after being the colloid was used for breast enlargement .argement
