When the com-mander of the corsair reached Tripoli he wasparaded through the streets on a donkey andbastinadoed for surrendering. Following—though, of course, not because of—this action a good many changes were madein the American squadron—changes such asincreasing its force and putting in new com-manders two or three times ; but eventually itappeared that, although here was a good squad-.
