Florists Hold Flcnlc. The Lancaster County Florists' Club held its annual picnic August 24, at Mr. and Mrs. B. P. Barr's farm. One hun- dred and twenty-five attended and a most enjoyable time was had by all. In bowling on the green, E. O. Hos- tetter and A. M. Herr possibly were the star marksmen. The program of sports resulted as follows: Boys' balloon blowing—John Girvin. Girls' balloon blowing—Mary Landis. Boys' potato race—Henry Kohrer, first; Luther Hostetter, seco'id. Cigar lighting contest—Edward Hohrer. Nail driving contest, ladies—Mrs. Jack Moore. Tack driving contest, ladles—Mae Brenneman. Tack driving contest, girls—Mary Weaver. Milk drinking contest, girls—Ruth Landis. Milk drinking contest, boys—William Landis. Cracker ealing contest—Mary Rohrer. Banana anting contest, boys—John Landis. Running race, boys—Harry Gayley. Running race, girls—Lavina Hostetter. Flower pot breaking contest—John Gayley. At cards, prizes were won" by Mae Brenneman and Edgar Herr. Two guinea trot contests were full of enjoyment. Lavina Hostetter succeeded in catching the guinea in the ladies' class and her father, Pharos S. Hostet- ter, captured the one for which the men competed. At 5:30 p. m. lunch was served. A short inspection of the Barr farms and nurseries, prior to the picnic, found overythinp in tiptop shape. An im- mense tfrbacco crop should return a large reveuue. The dairy end of the farm repres
