In politics, Mr. Randall was a Whig from thetime when he cast his first Presidential vote forWilliam Henry Harrison until he voted forLincoln in 1860. Since that time he been aninflexible adherent of Republican principles, andhas often served as delegate to the conventions ofhis party but would not accept public office.
