Autumn berries. Blackberries (fruticosus, black) and black bryony berries (Tamus communis, red). Blackberries are a popular autumn fruit used in baking and the cooking of preserves. The fruits of the bryony are poisonous. It is a parasitic climbing plant that cannot support its own wieght and grows upon a support plant. The berries of both these fruits contain the seeds from which new plants may grow.
