Lip granuloma. Close-up of a pyogenic (pus- forming) granuloma (brown spot) on the lip of a 75-year-old man. A granuloma is a mass of small blood vessels and connective tissue which forms due to chronic inflammation, after infection or due to the presence of a foreign body. A pyogenic granuloma is usually surgically removed.
