Eossi, of Peli- cano, Bossi & Co., was elected first vice- president. Cohen & Figore say business has been fine at their stand in the Ferry building. They are glad to see violets improving, as this stock is one of the principal items in their transient trade. Miss Recardie Lee Murray opened her new store on Geary street, near Larkin street, January 10. The place was thoroughly renovated to suit the needs of her business and is nicely fitted up to show the stock to advantage. This establishment will be conducted as a branch of the stand in the Clift hotel. Among the notable holiday events for which A. O. Stein handled the decora- tions was an affair given in the St. Francis hotel. Two rooms on the mezza- nine floor and the Colonial ballroom were used, all three rooms being done in black and white, in futuristic design. White carnations and freesias were used on the tables and black and white streamers shrouded the potted trees which outlined the central dancing space. A pall of orchids and violets was made at the Stein establishment for the funeral of a prominent attorney. According to T. C. Holmes, manager of the C. C. Morse & Co. retail store, shipments of seeds from England, France, Belgium and Italy have arrived the same as under normal conditions, and this firm, he says, is preparing for an unusually good spring season.
