A German war chest, circa 1600 Rectangular sheet iron body with iron strap fittings. At the front fake keyhole with domed escutcheon, two hasps for padlocks. Two movable side handles. Hinged lid, the central keyhole with swivelling cover. Lock mechanism with nine latches, chaplet with intact ward and replaced hollow shank key.
