It is to be diagnosed from fecial paralysis by its gradual onset, itsprogressive character, unimpaired electro-muscular reactions, and theincurability of the aflection. Prognosis.—Progressive muscular atrophy is, as a rule, may run its course very slowly in some cases, and apparently remainstationary for long periods of time, but there is little, if any, hope ofpermanently arresting its development.
