Medicinal Uses.—A stimulant stomachicin atonic conditions of the stomach, or in dys-pepsia accompanied by vomiting and flatulence. Dose of the powder, about thirty grains (2 grams) in CASCAEILL^E of Cascarilla. Evaporate any desired quantity of the fluid extract to the pilularconsistence, and then incorporate with it, while still warm, one-twentiethpart of its weight of glycerin. Brown. Dose.— to 1 gram (8 to 15 grains). CASCARILLA EXTRACTUM Extract of Cascarilla. To make five hundred cubic centimeters (or its equivalent—17 U. ), use five hundred grams (or its equivalent—17§ avoirdu-pois ounces) of the drug, in No. GO powder. As a menstruum use alcohol and water mixed in the proportion ofthree hundred grams (about 12} fluidounces) alcohol to every one hun-dred grams (about 3£ fluidounces) of water.
