The horns curve regularly backwards, are conical in form, andmarked by small irregular ridges for the greater part of their hair is somewhat rough and shaggy, and the tail considerablylonger than in the chamois. Height at shoulder, from 26 to 28 inches ;;weight, from 58 to 63 lbs. The following species occur in the Indo-Burmese countries :— Nemorhcedus hodgsoni.—Tail short. Colour brown, with a whitepatch on the throat and chin, a black dorsal stripe and tail, and ablack stripe down the front of each leg and over knee.
