SEA OF HYUGA (Nov. 23, 2016) Japan Maritime Self Defense Force minesweeper JDS Chichijima (MSC-605) sails in the distance during the bilateral mine countermeasures exercise 3JA. 3JA is an annual bilateral exercise held between the Navy and JMSDF to strengthen interoperability and increase proficiencies in mine countermeasure operations.
