Holland, 21st Nov, 2014. Every year on the 5th of December Saint Nicholas is celebrated in the country. Saint Nicholas, patron saint of children arrives two weeks ahead of celebrations and is welcomed in almost every town and city in the country. Controversy has arisen recenlty over "Black Pete", Saint Nicholas' traditional helpers whose faces are painted black. Opponents argue "Black Pete" is a racist tradition.
