A heavy target crossbow with a Spanish windlass, Dutch/Flemish, circa 1700. Heavy, forged steel prod with a mark stamped on the inside. Replacement hemp bowstring. Sturdy walnut tiller (small chip on the bottom) with an iron stirrup and engraved brass framed box lock. The top of the tiller has an inlaid bone bolt channel, brass nut and restrained mother-of-pearl inlays. Chiselled steel trigger guard.
