A splendid Balkan flask, circa 1500. A flat bottle richly decorated in relief, of leaded tin alloy with greyish age patina. Circular body made of three riveted parts, decorated on both sides with the figure of Saint George in relief. The feet embellished with scrolling flowers and foliage. Slender neck with flared lip, a handle on either side adorned with scrolling foliage in relief and stylised dragon heads. Height 38 cm. Rare bottle type probably used for sacral purposes.
