It was in 1908 that the station insti- tuted tests of cabbage and tomato seeds. The results with cabbage were pub- lished in 1912 and the figures on toma- toes now are given out. The seed ob- tained from each source is designated as a strain, although it is quite likely that in reality several seedsmen may have had a common source of supply.
