A head of Hypnos - a fine copy from the 19th century patterned after a model from ancient Imperial Rome Portrait of the god with wings at the temples and a headband over the hairline. The long hair held together and tied to a knot at back. Orbital arches and root of the nose comparatively boldly sculpted, indicating that the sculpture was made in the 19th century. Bearing resemblance to the Hypnos located in the Hadrian's Villa at Tivoli (Museum of Thermae in Rome). Drill hole at the underside of the neck for mounting on a metal rod.
