Soc, Zool. xii. p. 411 (1876)... clavipennis. Proboscis fully developed ; palpi upturned to vertex of liead, the 2nd joint rather broadly scaled, the 3rd short and obtuse ; antennjB long, bipectinate, with moderate branches dilated at extremity and ending in a bristle; thornx and base of abdomen clothed with thick hair ; tibiae with the spurs moderate. Fore wing with the costa arched towards apex, the termen very obliquely curved ; vein 3 from near angle of cell; 4, 5 approximated for a short distance ; 6 from upper angle ; 7,8,9, 10 stalked. Hind wing of male with the termen much excised townrrls tornus, which is developed into a large pointed lobe bearing tufts of hair above and with a large tuft from base, of female much less lobed ; the cell Icmg : vein 2 iVom well before angle; 3,4 from angle; 5 curved from below middle of discocellulars; G, 7 from upper angle.
