One of the prettiest of the submerged plants. The small ovate leaves, green above and pink on the under side, are very attractive and entirely distinct from all other aquarium plants. 25 cts. each; $ per doz. It is doubtful if anything is more fascinating to the young as well as to the older members of the household than to watch the development of animal and plant life in the aqua- ria. Fish will not thrive unless enough plants are growing to furnish them with oxygen. To do this there should be not leas than one plant to every two gallons of water. The ideal temperature is about 50 degrees, and a shady corner, or a window facing north, is best during the summer, and an east window during the winter.
