Naproxen tablet and blisterpack. Naproxen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID) used to reduce pain, fever and inflammation. It was first marketed in 1976, and is usually a prescription-only drug though some countries allow lower doses to be sold over the counter. This is a 500 milligram tablet, with a break-line so it can be broken in two for half-doses of 250 milligrams.
