Villa Doria Pamphili on the Gianicolo, Rome, Italy, c1926 (1927). The Villa Doria Pamphili is a 17th century villa located within in a large public garden in Rome. A small villa existed on the site before 1630. In 1644 Cardinal Giambattista Pamphili was elected as pope, taking on the name Innocent X and the old villa was extensively remodelled for him by Alessandro Algardi (1598-1654).
