The official party was thereupon tendered a buffet luncheon inthe Directors Room of the Administration Building, after which theprocession formed, made lengthier by the addition of the TwelfthRegiment of Infantry, and proceeded to the State Building. At 3 oclock, Governor Hughes and a score of officials, includingGeneral Frederick 1). Grant, U. S. After the review, the Squadron formed on the left of the TwelfthInfantry and escorted the Governor back to the State Building, wherethe officers were given an opportunity to pay their respects to theGovernor. In the evening a reception was given to the Governor, Stateofficials and Legislative representatives, attended by the field, staffand company officers, and prominent people of the Exposition andNorfolk. This was the most brilliant event of the entire Expositionseason, and was attended by the greatest number, for more thanfour thousand persons were formally presented to the Governor thatnight.
