Avea commercial waste disposal incinerator
The plant was commissioned in 1970 and deals with the incineration of more than 200,000 tonnes of domestic and commercial waste per year. The treatment takes place in three furnaces at temperatures of up to 1,100 degrees celsius with the energy produced converted into electricity and fed into the national grid.
