International space station (ISS) seen from the Space Shuttle Endeavour after undocking. A Soyuz spacecraft (black, lower centre) is docked to the Zvezda Service Module, with the Zarya or Functional Cargo Block (FGB, also lower centre) and the Unity node (grey, centre) also seen. During Endeavour's mission (STS-97, 30 November to 11 December 2000), the ISS's 73-metre solar arrays (upper frame) were attached and unfolded. The ISS is a joint effort between NASA, the European Space Agency, the Russian space agency, Canada, Japan and Brazil. The space station has been manned since late 2000. Photographed on December 9.
