BURPEE'S SADDLE-BACK WAX BEAN. This distinct new bean is unequaled in quality. As shown in the painting, the fleshy pods are as thick as they are wide, and absolutely stringless. When the pods are broken between the beans there is no open space, the pods being completely filled with meat, and can be sliced like a cucumber without showing any hollow spaces. Few flmoers at Fordhook have excited more admiration than this distinct novelty. The peculiar form of the fruits, of deepest orange, rich glowing scarlet and bright light yellow, make them most charming plants for ornament in the garden or for pot culture. The peppers, when ripe, are of a clear, sharp flavor. By stringing them for winter
