The sculpture by Swedish sculptor Carl Milles is made from red granite and is said to represent Triton, Greek God of the seas and son of Poseidon. The 1913 sculpture includes a mermaid on the shoulders of the sea god. It stands on the waterfront on the island of Gamla Stan.
