( cm), Ceramics, Job & John Jackson (active 1831–35), This pink and white transfer-printed earthenware plate features a view of the Hancock family mansion, a famous colonial structure on Beacon Street in Boston, Massachusetts. The two-storey granite-facaded structure was erected by Boston merchant Thomas Hancock (1703–1764) in 1737, the year his nephew and later occupant of the mansion, John Hancock (1737–1793), was born
