He experiences visions, memory flashes of terrible situations from the past where he spent his childhood: in the sewers and closets of Warsaw. Her father was assassinated in front of her eyes in the ghetto and her mother managed to keep her alive, hiding her from persecution, but she died shortly after the defeat of the Nazis. She never talked about going into hiding as a child during the war; Not even her children knew about her past, but from the moment she decided to start telling it, she has not stopped, considering that it was her responsibility and obligation to maintain the memory. Shashar has spoken at the United Nations General Assembly and at numerous educational centers and institutions around the world. He currently lives in Israel, and has traveled to Madrid, Spain to offer his testimony.
