Barren land along Arkansas River owned by Union Pacific Railroad, includes many railroad era artifacts.
The land just across the Arkansas River from downtown Salida, Colorado, is now vacant and barren, owned by the Union Pacific Railroad. An artist has creatively arranged some of the relics. Salida is a historic railroad town that supported the mining industry in and around the Arkansas River Valley. The Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad laid the original tracks through the valley.
