Galaxy NGC 2146 is a barred spiral galaxy in constellation Camelopardalis located approx 70 million light years from Earth. The galaxy was discovered in 1876 by Friedrich August Theodor Winnecke. It has a diameter of 80,000 light years, so it is 80% size of Milky Way. Galaxy is bent 45 degrees due to close encounter with a smaller galaxy possibly NGC 2146a about billion years ago. Picture taken with newton telescope 750mm focal length and scientific camera. Total exposure time: 2h 54m
